Sir Francis Drake and the Foundation of a World Empire by Jim Gallagher

"This book tells of the life of Francis Drake, a famous English privateer. What can be credited to the relatively simple biography is that it covers history on a larger scale, as well. This book also tells about the English-Spanish European power struggle that ultimately led to the failed invasion of England in 1588. It was an interesting and engaging book."
